Rotork Controls is the home of the flagship IQ intelligent electric actuator range. The IQ range features legendary innovations including Rotork's unique double-sealed enclosure, ‘non-intrusive' infra-red commissioning, data-logging and predictive maintenance capabilities. More recent innovations include the advanced display, Bluetooth® communications interface and absolute encoder.
The IQ functionality and reliability is available for valves of virtually every size and description, including multi-turn (rotary), quarter-turn, isolating and modulating, with watertight and hazardous area approvals to all internationally recognised standards.
Electric actuator ranges also include the AWT for simplified control duties, ROM, ROMpak and Q direct drive actuators for small quarter-turn valves and IEEE qualified NA actuators for the nuclear power industry.
Rotork actuators are compatible with a wide range of communication and process control systems. Rotork's own Pakscan system offers advanced actuator network control similar to network control from Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus, Modbus, DeviceNet and Hart.

Rotork has the experience, know-how and product range to deliver virtually any actuation solution. Rotork products have long been chosen for their reliability and performance. Whilst these proven characteristics are certain under normal operating conditions, there are conditions that not even a standard Rotork actuator can operate in — fire.
Fire and explosion is a major cause of concern to refinery, gas processing, petro-chemical and offshore installations. Danger and damage from fire can be minimised by the efficient and effective protection of the systems, which control the plant.
For this reason Rotork can recommend a range of fire proofing options for it’s actuators, ranging from fixed passive protection through to full fire retardant enclosures.
Provides intelligent communication options and a multilingual display. The IQ actuator range offers a multi-turn (rotary) and quarter-turn isolating/regulating duty.
Torque range 14 to 3,000 Nm (10 to 2,200 lbf-ft) direct drive (multi-turn only). Higher torques when combined with IS or IB gearbox, up to 40,800 Nm (30,000 lbf-ft). Quarter-turn when combined with IW gearbox up to 250,000 Nm (185,000 lbf-ft).
Complete integrated motor control
Simple non-intrusive, infra-red setup and adjustment
Digital, analogue or bus system remote control and status reporting
Comprehensive software tools for plant records and valve performance analysis
Benefiting from all the features of the IQ, IQD actuators are direct current versions of IQ actuators.
Torque range from 34 Nm (25 lbf ft) to 305 Nm (225 lbf ft).
Based on the multi-turn IQ actuator the IQH provides a range of high output speeds while being generally irreversible and therefore provides a self-locking* ability by the actuator for the valve. Developed for diverter valves in meter prover applications, IQH provides fast operation with positive seating without backdriving.
IQH Pro actuators offer the following powerful features:
Multi-turn and quarter-turn
High speed - self locking capability
Non-intrusive set-up
Clear user friendly controls and indication
Simplified torque and position control for increased reliability
Flexible and comprehensive control and indication
On-board datalogger
IrDA compatible for local and remote actuator analysis via PC
IQ insight & IQ Pocket Insight software tools for set-up, analysis, asset management and diagnostics
*Note:It should be noted that a self-locking ability cannot be guaranteed for worm and wheel drives under all conditions including high loads and vibration, either under static and dynamic conditions. When handwheel operation is selected the gear train is disconnected and therefore any locking ability will be lost.
Benefiting from all the features of the IQ, the IQM modulating version has a solid state reversing starter in place of the electromechanical contactors. “Hammerblow” lost motion drive is removed and fast response remote control circuits for rapid control are included. The IQM is suitable for up to 1,200 starts per hour. The solid state starter also adds an electronic motor ‘brake’ feature, improving positional control.

The IQT Pro Quarter-turn Actuator Range
The Rotork IQT range of actuators offers end users ever higher standards of performance, build quality and overall value. Standard IQT and variants are suitable for all quarter-turn valve applications, requiring control and indication flexibility. Modulating options are available and a wide range of power sources can be accomodated.
Powerful Features:
Three phase, direct current and single phase actuators
On-board data logger included as standard
IrDA™ compatible for local and remote actuator analysis via InSight PC software
Clear, user friendly controls and indication
Multilingual text display for status and setup
Simplified torque and position control for increased reliability
Comprehensive control and flexibility
Approved for use in SIL applications with an additional SFCM Control Module
For quarter-turn applications the IQT is designed for direct drive, and can be mounted at any operating angle. The rugged construction is double-sealed to prevent water and dust ingress even during site wiring.
Torque range 50 to 2,000 Nm (36 to 1,475 lbf-ft).
Available for three-phase, single-phase or DC supplies
Variable output speed
Multiport controller option
Secure self-locking output for butterfly valves and dampers without the use of additional brakes
IQTF Pro – Full Output Turn Actuator
Based on the quarter-turn IQT actuator the IQTF provides extended output rotation for part-turn valve types requiring more than 90° for operation. Typical valves include 180° and 270° diverter valves and multiport manifolds requiring bidirectional 360° operation. The IQTF actuator has a low output speed for increased positional accuracy and may also be utilised for low turn, multi-turn applications where slow operation is required.IQTF Pro – Multiport Control
The IQTF – Multiport option extends the actuator’s functionality for indexing unidirectional or bi-directional multiport manifold applications. Each port is displayed on the LCD as a port number and control is achieved via Local Selectors, Hardwired Remote Control or Modbus network.
IQTF Pro actuators offer the following powerful features:
Multi-turn and part-turn
Slow speed operation for increased accuracy
Non-intrusive set-up
Clear user friendly controls and indication
Simplified torque and position control for increased reliability
IQTFM Pro – Modulating
With the same outline specification as IQTF, the IQTFM has an extended duty cycle for modulating applications. Includes special fast switching control inputs for hardwired control.
IQTFM Pro actuators offer the following powerful features:
Multi-turn and part-turn
Slow speed operation for increased accuracy
Non-intrusive set-up
Clear user friendly controls and indication
Simplified torque and position control for increased reliability
The IQT Failsafe actuator provides valve failsafe operation by utilising power from a battery source during AC supply mains failure. Under normal supply conditions the actuator operates from the site AC electrical supply. On loss of this supply the actuator automatically switches over to receive power from a 24V DC supply allowing control of the valve to the mains failsafe position.
IQT Failsafe Pro Type 1 - External Failsafe
Suitable for use in hazardous and nonhazardous locations, Type 1 includes connection for a customer supplied 24V DC supply in addition to the normal AC supply.
IQT Failsafe Pro Type 2 - Battery Failsafe
Suitable for use in non-hazardous locations only, Type 2 includes a battery located in the actuator terminal cover, charged from an integral charging system when AC power is applied to the actuator.
IQT Failsafe Pro offers the following powerful features:
Same performance as Standard IQT
Three Phase, Single Phase and DC power supplies (type 1 only)
Modulating Duty Option
Full-turn and multiport option
The modulating version of the IQT has solid state motor switching and includes fast response remote control circuits for rapid response to control signals. The IQTM is suitable for up to 1,200 starts per hour.
